Holy Royal Arch Freemasons

Chapter of Unity #183

Chapter of Unity 183 is a Chapter in Royal Arch Freemasonry.  Many members come from two London lodges, our own Barbican 8494 and our sister lodge Hackney Manor 4592.

Chapter of Unity was founded in 1922 and as we build up to our 100th year, we are happy to report a chapter that is healthy in numbers, busy with ritual and thriving in London Freemasonry.

If you are a Master Mason and have thought about joining Royal Arch Freemasonry, please ask us about how you can join. You don’t need to be from one of these two lodges.

If your Chapter is no more and you would like to join a thriving Chapter, please ask us. We recently had five joining members from a Chapter that had returned its warrant; we will be happy to talk to you so that you don’t miss out.

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.

What do we believe in?

Freemasonry has always been about making good men better. We aim to follow the five core principles of integrity, kindness, honesty, fairness and tolerance.

Why become a freemason?

For friendship, to contribute society, to learn about yourself, to be amongst kindred spirits, the reasons are as numerous as our membership.

Who can be a Freemason?

Any man over the age of 21 may join regardless of ethnic group, political views, economic standing or religion although he is expected to have a faith.

Why the emphasis on charity?

Charity guides our lives; Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable organisations in the world, giving £33m to good causes every year in the UK alone.

A better way to live

By following our fundamental principles, we hope to be better people, live better lives and benefit others, leaving this world a better place.

Fraternity, Charity, Integrity.
